The Production Engineer acts as a technical resource for Operations personnel in the plant, applying technical skills to optimize plant operations, resolve plant problems and enable safe and efficient production of quality products. The Production Engineer is expected to be able to interact effectively with a wide variety of teams to implement change effectively and sustain the gains. The Production Engineer is expected to be able to thrive in a fast paced and very dynamic environment.
Technical leadership of one or more continuous improvement projects
Troubleshoot problems in manufacturing processes
Improve the safety of existing manufacturing installations
Identify and implement methods for manufacturing cost reduction in line with business needs
Develop practical solutions to complex technical problems
Develop the capital projects to improve efficiency, reliability, safety, and product line expansion
Develop PIDs, specification documents, process design package, and control systems functional design for projects
Document and communicate institutional knowledge throughout the organization
Develop training materials for Operations technicians. Participate in the technician qualification process by providing classroom instruction on basic principles, troubleshooting and process specifics.
Successfully complete all required trainings
Keep process documentation up-to-date (PFDs, PIDs, H&M balance, specification sheets, design documentation).
Support new process startup - shift work may be required
Improve the production KPI such as increasing the OEE, reduce the downtime and improve the quality
Monitoring the process indicator and response on time
On call for nights, weekends, and holidays
Responsible for Statistical Process Control (SPC) including daily, weekly, monthly and annual reporting.
Responsible for investigation and actions to address any issues from SPC and SQC monitoring
Responsible for conducting root cause investigations and developing corrective and preventive actions for safety/quality/process incidents/event
Drives a culture of "Do It Safe, Do It Right the First Time" with their actions and their words on a daily basis.
KPIs include but are not limited to: (Align with country/AP/global goal)
LOPC reduction rate : 50% ex) 10 events in last year -> 5 event in this year
Complete all actions of safety survey from safety session in 2023
Minimize the downtime to enhance the Availability increasing in OEE
Investigate the the sampling method to increasing the First time pass rate
Follow up the PHA action items on time
Complete the 2 CI projects
BS in Chemical Engineering
Strong understanding of chemical engineering fundamentals
Proven track record of delivering on commitments
Proven ability to lead change, personally adaptable, and able to perform well under pressure and constantly changing priorities
Solution/outcome oriented in an environment with minimal supervision
Problem solving and decision making skills
Development and use of metrics for performance management
Understanding the distillation and column operation system
Good abilities for troubleshooting and expecting the impact
Preferred Qualifications
Experience performing hands-on optimization of specialty chemicals/gasses production units.
Provide process engineering expertise across various product lines and sites
Working knowledge of PLC and DCS control systems
Cost/benefit analysis
Six-Sigma green or black belt certification or the equivalent knowledge and experience
Significant experience working with highly hazardous chemicals at a manufacturing facility
Expertise in various unit operations, and associated equipment (i.e. distillation, filtration, reaction)
Demonstrated presentation skills
Working knowledge of fire, building, and electrical codes
Working knowledge of ASME code and CGA standards
Make quantitative, fact and data-based decisions
Chemical plant operation experience strongly preferred
5S and Lean Manufacturing experience
Process hazard analysis training; LOPA and HAZOP
Root cause investigation training and methodology
Able to learn technical chemical processes quickly in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
Able to effectively work with team mates in Maintenance, R&D, Process Development, Engineering, Quality and HSE (Health, Safety and Environment)
Improvement project or capital project experience
