We are seeking a talented and experienced Director, Program Management Office (PMO) to spearhead our PMO function at Lunit Oncology. This pivotal leadership role will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and optimizing PMO practices that drive operational excellence across our AI-powered oncology portfolio. As a key leader based in our Seoul HQ office, the Director will report directly to the Global VP of Product Management and Marketing and will play an instrumental role in shaping the future of our organization.
The ideal candidate will build and scale effective PMO tools and processes tailored for Lunit Oncology, drive complex cross-functional programs involving multiple stakeholders and external partners, and ensure successful delivery of our AI-powered solutions. This role requires demonstrated success in PMO leadership for medical devices or IVDs, strategic capabilities to facilitate program prioritization across the portfolio, broad understanding of AI-powered product development lifecycles, and exceptional leadership abilities to influence across organizational boundaries.
🚩 Roles & Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & PMO Team Management
Build, develop, and lead a high-performing program management team through coaching, mentoring, and professional development
Establish a comprehensive and tailored PMO framework including methodologies, best practices, governance structures, tools and systems, and resource allocation strategies
Drive portfolio prioritization to align projects and resources with organizational objectives and strategic imperatives
Portfolio & Program Management
Oversee the entire portfolio of programs and projects, ensuring appropriate resource allocation, schedule tracking, risk management, and quality standards
Direct multiple concurrent programs, ensuring interdependencies are managed and benefits are realized to successfully deliver AI-powered solutions
Establish portfolio and program reporting systems to provide executive leadership with visibility into project health status, risks, and performance
Develop resource budgeting and scheduling processes for the PMO, ensuring projects deliver within approved budgets and schedules
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery capabilities and operational efficiency
Process & Methodology Development
Design, implement, and continuously refine PMO methodologies, templates, and tools
Establish project governance frameworks, escalation procedures, and decision-making processes, including with external partners
Develop and maintain project management standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
Drive technology adoption to enhance project visibility, resource management, and reporting capabilities
Requirements
🎯 Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in life sciences or related field; Master's degree preferred
8+ years of professional experience with at least 3-5 years in PMO leadership roles
Proven track record of building and leading successful PMO functions in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industries
Demonstrated experience managing complex, strategic portfolios in regulated environments
Experience implementing both Agile and Waterfall methodologies at an organizational level
Exceptional stakeholder management and English communication skills (written and verbal)
Proven ability to influence at the executive level and drive organizational change
Advanced proficiency in portfolio/project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite
🏅 Preferred Experiences
Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in relevant field
PMP certification or equivalent (PgMP, PfMP)
Experience in oncology research or clinical trials
Knowledge of medical imaging and AI/ML applications in healthcare
Experience with quality management systems and regulatory compliance
Formal training or certification in leadership development
Ability to navigate ambiguity and make decisions with incomplete information
Coaching and mentoring capabilities
